Historical objects collection
The collection includes furniture and furnishings, lighting equipment and essential household items. Daily life is also represented by writing instruments and school supplies, toys and games, sports and hobby equipment, various cosmetic and hygiene products. The economic history is reflected by 18th–20th-century artisan tools and products, their guild items, as well as 19th–21st-century factory samples and product packaging. The development of technology is illustrated by photographic and communication equipment, music players, film and video equipment, household appliances, etc.
A significant part of the collection is around 5,000 textile items – daywear and festive clothing, uniforms, as well as home and household textiles, textiles used in churches, flags of organisations, etc. Accessories such as jewellery, walking sticks, glasses, fans, bags, purses, etc., also illustrate the fashion of the era.
In addition, the historical objects collection includes over 3,000 ceramic and glass items: decorative vases, tea, coffee and dinner sets and their parts, glasses, figurines and small items, glass bottles, sweets and fruit bowls, vases. These include both one-of-a-kind and mass-produced items made at the M. S. Kuzņecovs Factory, the Riga Porcelain and Faience Factory, the Iļģuciems Glass Factory and the Līvāni Glass Factory.
