Secrets of Dauderi Garden
Target audience: grade 1–4, grade 5–9
The museum lesson encourages participants to learn about the lifestyle of the owners of Dauderi house in the 19th–20th centuries and to explore the elements of the museum garden in an age-appropriate game. Pupils learn how each period of history brought certain changes to the garden and how each owner adapted the house and garden to their needs.
Procedure: the lesson is structured as a set of orienteering tasks for three groups: each group of pupils has to complete five tasks along a specific route in Dauderi garden. Working in groups, the pupils solve puzzles, look for answers to certain questions, get to know Dauderi house and its garden environment, and summarise what they have learned at the end of the lesson.
