Riga Castle’s offer

Riga Castle’s offer

The museum reopens in the Riga Castle, where it was housed since 1920. However, the museum has only one part of the restored premises of the Riga Castle – about one third of the total planned area of the museum’s premises – as the rest of the premises are currently not planned to be repaired. Thus, the museum is able to show the wealth of its collection to visitors in a much more limited amount than it would like.

While the museum does not yet have any exhibitions, visitors have a unique opportunity to explore Riga Castle. The oldest part of Riga Castle, built in the 16th century, has regained a number of its oldest and most beautiful premises: the vaulted cellars, the chapel, the refectory, the 5-story Lead Tower, the gallery, attics and others, which can now be viewed in a form not seen for several centuries.

The museum is open from Wedneday to Sunday: on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 18:00, on Fridays from 10:00 to 20:00, on Sundays and Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:00.

Entrance tickets: adults – 5,00 EUR, students, pensioners – 3,00 EUR, pupils – 2,00 EUR, family ticket (1 adult un 1-2 children) – 6,00 EUR, family ticket (2 adults un 1-2 children) – 11,00 EUR.

The “Explorer’s Attic” and audioguide of Riga castle have been created with European co-fundation leveraged by Ministry of Culture.
