In cooperation with the Ukrainian Embassy in Latvia, an audioguide for the Riga Castle tour has been created in Ukrainian. This is now the sixth language in which the museum’s audioguide is available. The museum is actively working to ensure that the language selection for the audioguides for future exhibitions is just as extensive.
The translation and recording of the audioguide in the studio was also financially supported by the Ukrainian Embassy in Latvia. This is part of an initiative by Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska to introduce audio guides in Ukrainian at the world’s most prominent cultural and tourist attractions. Currently, there are more than 100 such places in over 50 countries around the world, and the LNMH is one of them.
The translation of audio guides in the largest museums in Latvia and Europe into Ukrainian is one of the ways to increase the presence of the Ukrainian language in cultural offerings outside Ukraine and, at the same time, reduce the need for Ukrainians to use digital tools in other languages, especially Russian, which was once widely used in many European and Latvian museums.
The LNMH audioguide is available anywhere with an internet connection: app.lnvm.lv
