On 11 November a special program at the Riga Castle
On 11 November, a special program at the Riga Castle
Throughout the day, from 11 to 19, a relic of the Latvian National Museum of History – the complete set – Class I, II and III – of the Military Order of Lāčplēsis that was presented to General Jānis Balodis – will be on display in the most luxurious room of the Riga Castle.
We will also invite you to pay attention to the recently restored Riga Castle as a witness and participant of many important historical milestones – this will be helped by the sightseeing route, which can be done individually with the help of the navigation booklet. The history of Riga Castle is also told by two exhibitions in the palace: “Lost and Found” and “Then and Now”.
The tradition of exhibiting the unique – the only known in Latvia complete set of the Military Order Order of Lāčplēsis, which belonged to Latvian Army General Jānis Balodis (1882–1965) – was started by the Latvian National Museum of History during the Third Awakening in 1988, and it has never been stopped.
Entrance to the museum all day and to all events is free.
