Opening of the book “History and Architecture of Riga Castle”

The LNMH has published a collection of articles “The History and Architecture of Riga Castle”, which brings together 16 articles by researchers from various fields on a wide and diverse range of issues related to the history, architecture, research and restoration of Riga Castle. The collection brings together the reports and research from the seminars on the history and architecture of the castle held in 2021-2023, and it is planned that the publication of the collection will continue in the coming years.

The restoration and reconstruction of the Riga Castle has deepened the knowledge of the site and stimulated further research, including in preparation for the establishment of the new LNMH exhibitions in the castle.

The authors of the book are specialists in various fields: architects, historians and art historians, archaeologists, restorers, numismatists and others. Among them are Agnese Bergholde-Wolf and Kristofer Herman, Ilmārs Dirveiks, Jānis Ciglis, Madara Rasiņa, Māris Zunde, Mārtiņš Vāveris, Anita Meinarte, Artūrs Lapiņš, Toms Ķikuts, Enija Rubina, Arnis Radiņš, Baiba Uburģe.

The opening event of the book will be held on 28 January at 15:00 in Riga Castle.
