Museum lesson for families with children (in Latvian)

This year, the first event organised by the Museum for families with children will take place on 26 January – it will be a lesson “Get to Know Riga Castle!”.

During the lesson, children and parents will get acquainted with Riga Castle – one of the best preserved castles of the Teutonic Order in the Baltic Sea region with more than 500 years of history.

At the beginning of the lesson, participants will receive a booklet especially designed for children and together with a museum educator will explore the restored premises of Riga Castle: 16th century vaults, columns, ceiling and wall paintings and other architectural and interior elements of the castle. Children will also be invited to see evidence of different eras, to explore and appreciate the work of architects and restorers, and to learn about the role of the castle and its inhabitants in different periods of history, including today. Along with the rich history of the castle, you will also get an insight into the most important events in Latvian history.

Fee: 3 euros per participant.

The event is only in Latvian.

The number of participants is limited, so please register: info@lnvm.gov.lv or 67221357.
