At the end of summer, the Mītels Ensemble will continue the concert series at the museum’s premises in Riga Castle, offering 18th century music at a concert entitled “À la française” on 22 August 18:00.
The 18th century was the golden age of flute music, especially in France, the birthplace of this instrument. In this concert program, the musicians of the Mītels Ensemble will take listeners on a musical journey to France in the first half of the 18th century, touching on pages of music history that mention the transverse flute.
The concert will feature tenor Ansis Bētiņš, Kristīne Stumbure, Maija Kļaviņa, Gertruda Jerjomenko and Elīza Čaša, combining the timbres of the Baroque flute with the Baroque cello, harpsichord and voice in various combinations. The concert will feature music by J. M. Leclair, J. J. de Mondonville, J. B. Bouamartier, J. F. Rameau and other French composers.
Entrance to the museum at the Riga Castle is from Daugavas gāte, the entrance fee is €3.
The number of seats at the concert is limited, so please purchase tickets in advance at the museum’s information center or reserve them by calling +37167221357 or writing to info@lnvm.gov.lv.
