The LNMH Museum Storage houses the Museum collections and administration, museum specialists, researchers, restorers and support staff.
Museum Storage is the Museum’s invisible engine – it holds over 150 years’ worth of collected heritage material, which the Museum’s specialists use to create the Museum’s offer to the public – permanent and temporary exhibitions at all its locations, namely, Riga Castle, the Dauderi and the Popular Front Museum.
It is located in a modern, purpose-built and equipped building at Pulka iela 8, Pārdaugava, Riga, where the Museum’s collections are also accessible to other researchers and interested parties. The restoration workshops are also located here and their equipment allow working on an advanced level with items of polychrome wood, furniture, textiles, paper objects, paintings, metal, archaeological material, ceramics and glass, ensuring the preservation of the National Museums Collection for future generations.
