During the autumn holidays schoolchildren are invited to the museum

To help students and teachers gain new knowledge and experiences in a peaceful, leisurely atmosphere, the Latvian National Museum of History invites schoolchildren of all ages to visit the museum at Riga Castle, Dauderi, or the Popular Front Museum—whether on their own, with parents or friends, or by participating in one of the organized activities (in Latvian. A special offer has also been prepared for teachers of the schools of Latvia — on 23 October excursions in Latvian in the exhibition “Livonian Castles” and “Streaming Time”.

At the LNMH in Riga Castle (Pils laukums 3, entrance from Daugavas gāte), a classroom called “Explorer’s Attic” has been set up specifically for schoolchildren, where Latvian history can be viewed and explored through an interactive exhibition. By exploring, listening, watching videos, and handling replicas of historical artifacts, visitors can learn about Latvian history, build a model of Riga Castle from blocks, or play one of the board games. The working language of the classroom is Latvian. The museum also features two interesting exhibitions—“Livonian Castles,” about life in medieval castles, and exhibition on the history of Latvia “Streaming Time” (the exhibitions can be explored with the audioguide: app.lnvm.lv).
