On 14 May annual scientific readings will be held
On 14 May, the Latvian National Museum of History invites you to the annual Scientific Readings Day at the Riga Castle, when the museum’s researchers, curators, restorers and other staff present the latest research results.
On 14 May, 10 papers will be read out, ranging in topic from processes and traditions (Jersika Statehood, Latvian Societies of the 19th-20th centuries) to the history of the museum large collections (the oldest burials in Rucava, the Bēne hoard, the Caucasian drawings album, the collection of baptismal bowls and women’s underwear) to the restoration and analysis of specific objects (the Triumphal Cross of St Jacob’s Church) and the contribution of one man (the engineer-chemist Rolands Puriņš).
Everyone is welcome to attend the LNMH Scientific Readings: in person (please book by 10 May by e-mail info@lnvm.gov.lv) at the museum in the Riga Castle (entrance from Daugavas Gāte) or remotely at facebook.com/LNVMuseum.
